Jewelry Making at the Hexagon House

We recently had a group of ladies from Sterling Heights spend the weekend at the Hexagon House and while they were here they made jewelry. This was under the guidance of Pentwater local Sue Hopp who provided the expertise for them. Sue regularly teaches jewelry making at the Artisan Center in Pentwater. If you're thinking of a fun girlfriend getaway, you might want to consider this as a great activity. Here they are showing off items they made.

A Champagne Breakfast

Return guests Ken and Louise and friends Debbie and Stephen, visiting from England, braved a somewhat chilly morning and enjoyed breakfast on the upper deck. Amy shared a new crepe filled quiche dish with them that went well with Champagne. They offered a toast to a great northern Michigan morning. It was Ken and Louise who last year convinced us that more people should enjoy breakfast outside. Consequently we purchased two sets of tables and chairs just for that purpose. We placed then on the lower porch near the kitchen. Thanks Louise and Ken for a great suggestion.

Congratulations Kim and Jeff!

We had another beautiful wedding last Saturday. Kim, Jeff and some family members traveled from Cumberland Michigan to enjoy a Hexagon House wedding. It's always a little "iffy" with the weather in May and we had a combination of beautiful and a little less than beautiful. The rain came and went and we were able to make a memory. Kim and Jeff are a really nice couple and we wish them the very best.

Innkeeping life is fun and rewarding. But occasionally we like to get away and see what's happening at other B&Bs and chat with fellow innkeepers. Today, Amy and I were privileged to have Gary and Sue from the Cartier Mansion in Ludington stop by to see us. We also had David and Jim from the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast of Bellair Michigan staying as guests for a couple of days. It was great to spend some time chatting about how much we enjoy the lives we lead.
